2. Accreditation Process
2.1 Initial Inquiry and Eligibility Check
Initial Inquiry: Schools (K-12), institutes, colleges, and universities contact GIEAA to indicate their interest in accreditation.
Eligibility Check: Eligibility Check: GIEAA evaluates the profile of schools (K-12), institutes, colleges, and universities to determine that it meets basic eligibility requirements.
2.2 Application Submission
Complete Application Form: The schools (K-12), institutes, colleges, and universities complete and submit the GIEAA Accreditation Application Form.
Application Fee: Payment of the non-refundable application fee.
2.3 Self-Assessment Report (SAR)
Preparation: The schools (K-12), institutes, colleges, and universities prepare a comprehensive Self-Assessment Report based on GIEAA standards.
Submission: Submit the SAR along with supporting documents to GIEAA.
2.4 Peer Review Visit
Scheduling: GIEAA schedules a peer review visit to the schools (K-12), institutes, colleges, and universities.
On-Site Evaluation: A team of peer reviewers conducts an on-site evaluation, including interviews with faculty, staff, and students.
Report Submission: Peer reviewers submit their findings in a detailed report.
2.5 Decision Making
Review: GIEAA reviews the peer review report and SAR.
Decision: The committee makes a decision to grant, defer, or deny accreditation.
Notification: The schools (K-12), institutes, colleges, and universities are notified of the decision and any required actions.
2.6 Continuous Improvement and Reaccreditation
Annual Reports: Accredited schools submit annual reports to GIEAA.
Periodic Review: GIEAA conducts periodic reviews to ensure ongoing compliance with standards.
Reaccreditation: The schools (K-12), institutes, colleges, and universities undergo reaccreditation every five years.
